NewsOXY reports that Sony has recalled more than 438,000 Vaio laptop computers Apparently, the computers have a defect that could cause the machines to overheat. The news was posted on their Latest Computer Technology page. Here's a quote from the article:
"The defect is in models VGN-TZ100, VGN-TZ200, VGN-TZ300 and VGN-TZ2000. The problem is related to wires that are positioned too close to the laptop's hinge. The wire can short circuit and begin to overheat." However, Sony hasn't had many reports on this problem: "The company received 15 reports of overheating. One consumer suffered a minor burn." With only one consumer slightly burned, it might be enough to recall 438,000 of the laptops. This echo's the problem Dell had. In 2006, Dell recalled more than 8 million Sony batteries for potential fires.
