Despite some strange behavior from Judge Paula Abdul which seemed to bring the pace of "American Idol" to a momentary standstill Tuesday night, the show was in overdrive as each contestant tried to squeeze in two songs. The five contestants sang songs by musical icon Neil Diamond. Because of the tight timeframe of trying to have each contestant sing two songs, the judges didn't critique the singer's after their first performance. After all five had sung, however, host Ryan Seacrest called the five "American Idol" wannabes onto the stage and asked the judges for quick comments.
Randy Jackson looked down at his notes and quickly gave his impression of each of the five. Then Paula started, critiquing Jason Castro's first song. After she commented on his song, she looked back down at her notes and told Jason that his second song failed to impress her. She continued to speak for a few moments about his second song, while a bewildered Seacrest could be seen looking off stage in search of help. Finally, Randy jumped in and told Paula that Jason had only sung one time. Paula got flustered and said she thought he had sung twice. Then she looked back at her notes and said the notes must have been for David Cook, who sang after Jason. The fan blogs started buzzing as soon as the show ended, wondering what was up with Paula's blunder. Theories range from Paula had pre-scripted notes given to her by the Idol staff to the fact that maybe Paula watched the contestant's during rehearsal and took notes then. Many of the blogs think it was a foreshadowing that Castro will be leaving the show Wednesday night. Either way, it was a blunder heard around the world, and one that will certainly continue to keep "Idol" fans heating up the blog-waves. One "American Idol" contestant will leave the show Wednesday night after a nationwide vote. Source: NewsOXY.com Paula Abdul's Strange American Idol Behavior
